For New Generations: A Memorandum of Understanding with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation
On May 20, at the headquarters of the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life in the Vatican, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the John Paul II Foundation for Youth and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, together with its Italian branch.
This agreement marks the culmination of a long journey of collaboration between the two foundations, aimed at promoting joint initiatives in the areas of care for Creation, education, and the engagement of younger generations in urgent issues concerning the environment and human life.
The memorandum was signed by Daniele Bruno, president of the John Paul II Foundation for Youth; by Romain Ciarlet, vice president and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation; and by Marco Colasanti, president of the Italian branch of the same foundation.
Present at the signing were the Secretary of the John Paul II Foundation for Youth, Marco Russo, and two members of the Board of Directors, Paola Canu and Pamela Fabiano.
This collaboration is based on a shared commitment to developing educational, cultural, and awareness-raising projects aimed at young people, with the goal of promoting a better understanding of issues related to integral ecology and fraternity among peoples and across generations.
The three institutions have already collaborated in the past to organize conferences on Creation as part of World Youth Day, and from now on, they will collaborate in a more structured manner to encourage younger generations to play an active role in building a more sustainable and responsible future and to care for Creation in an integral way.
By organizing events, training programs, and international initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue between the worlds of education and sustainability, the three organizations will thus be able to forge a shared path in service of young people and their educators.
Among the first projects already planned is the organization of the International Conference on Creation and Fraternity in conjunction with the World Youth Day in Seoul 2027. On this occasion, the three institutions will collaborate to promote a time of reflection and exchange dedicated to the environment, sustainability, and responsibility toward future generations, together with universities, training centers, ecclesial movements, and episcopal conferences from around the world.
